Overview

The Ministry of Fisheries (MoFI) is the Public Administrator at national level regarding issues related to the fisheries industry in Vietnam. The ministry is comprised of a number of advisory departments and also includes research institutions—including the ones involved in the preparation of the Vietnam TKN research report.

The Vietnamese government has been implementing various policies and strategies encouraging investments in aquaculture development. Within the Aquaculture Development Program, the basic ideas are to promote sustainable and environmentally-friendly aquaculture; to diversify cultured species and water surface, scope technologies; to target shrimp as the intermediately key subject, as well as developing mollusk and marine fish culture.
