Overview
PRISMA is an applied research centre with a focus on development and environmental issues in El Salvador. PRISMA's approach emphasizes the institutional and social aspects of the development process, as well as the interactions between international, national and local dimensions in this process. Based on this vision, PRISMA has the following general objectives:
- to foster a better understanding among the different social actors of the intrinsic relationship between development and environmental problems; and
- to promote a viable, sensible and socially-inclusive framework for strategic environmental management that incorporates environmental and social criteria in development and land-use policies
