Trade Knowledge Network members worked within their countries to identify areas and issues where a nexus between trade and sustainable development existed or had potential. As their work progressed, there emerged a number of common themes that crossed national and regional boundaries in the areas of Standards and Market Access; Ongoing WTO Negotiations; Agricultural Issues; Cost Internalization/Pollution Prevention; and Other Research related to trade and sustainable development. While the political and cultural context differs from country to country and from region to region, the linkages between these themes and sustainable development are of global concern.
The TKN research on these themes promotes cross learning among countries and regions on the positive linkages between trade and sustainable development.
